When you need it
Almost always for the same reason: the dates do not line up. You hand back the house on the 30th and receive the new one on the 15th; the visa is delayed; the purchase does not close in time; the container sails before you fly.
Storing your goods through that gap is cheaper than forcing a handover date on a property or paying a penalty on a missed sailing.
You pay for what you occupy
We do not rent you a fixed-size unit where you pay for the empty air. Your goods are stored packed and billed by the volume they actually take up, measured after packing.
That has one consequence worth knowing: if you are going to store, pack properly from the start. Badly stacked goods take up considerably more and cost more every month.
What we will not take into storage
Nothing flammable, no food, and nothing that attracts pests. Nor documents or valuable jewellery: bank safe deposit boxes exist for that, and that is where they belong.
We would rather say it now than discover it when the unit is opened six months later.

Can I get something out while it is stored?
Yes, with notice. This is not self storage with free access: we locate what you need and prepare it for collection.
Is there a minimum period?
No minimum number of months, but there is a minimum charge covering the handling in and out, which applies whether you store for a week or a year.
Is it insured while in storage?
Storage cover is arranged separately from transit cover and is calculated on the value declared in the inventory. We explain both before you sign.
