Consolidated ocean freight between Panama and Miami
If your goods do not fill a container, paying for a whole one is buying empty space.
Shared container versus exclusive container
An exclusive container is paid for in full whether it travels loaded or half empty. In consolidation your goods share a container with other clients and you pay for the cubic metres you occupy. For a small apartment, or for part of a household, the price difference is large.
What you trade is time. The container sails once it is filled with other cargo, and at destination it has to be deconsolidated before delivery. If your date is fixed, an exclusive container is still the right answer and we will tell you so.
Why this route in particular
Panama and South Florida move steady traffic in both directions, and that is exactly what makes consolidation viable: there is enough cargo to fill containers regularly, so the wait stays reasonable.
It works both for people relocating and for anyone bringing accumulated purchases, furniture or equipment from the United States.
How what you pay is measured
Volume is measured once packed, not before, because packing takes space. An unprotected dining set measures less than the same set wrapped in blankets and edge protectors, and it is the second one that sails.
That is why the quote comes from the survey. A figure given over the phone from a list of furniture always falls short, and correcting it afterwards is the conversation nobody wants.
What it includes
- Survey and cubing of the goods once packed
- Export packing
- Space in a shared container on the Panama – Miami route
- Shipping documentation
- Deconsolidation at destination
- Coordination of clearance and final delivery
Frequently asked questions
How much slower is it than an exclusive container?
Slower, and by how much depends on when the container fills. We give you an estimated window at quoting and confirm once your cargo is loaded aboard.
Does my shipment travel mixed with other people's?
It shares a container, not space. Each shipment is identified and kept separate, and the intake inventory is what gets checked at deconsolidation.
Can I ship a car this way?
A vehicle has its own process and its own export documentation. It can be arranged, but it does not simply join a household consolidation: ask about it separately.
